Art wonderland:  Visitors are taken on a journey through vast hanger-like spaces housing  large-scale video works and architectural pieces to intimate chambers exhibiting art that engage all the senses.

World’s largest pop-up:  Mobile and scale-able, The 14th Factory is capable of rapid assembly and disassembly and can be re-located anywhere in the world.

Agents for change:  Conceived as an artistic response to a world on the cusp of unprecedented change, The 14th Factory celebrates the human potential to adapt, create and collaborate.

The 14th Factory closed its LA chapter on July 30, 2017.

The project first opened to public on March 11, 2017. Due to an overwhelming response from the City of Los Angeles, it extended its run multiple times. Since its opening, over a span of 4.5 months, the project has had an attendance of over 80,000. Thank you Los Angeles!

The 14th Factory LA was a monumental, multiple-media, socially engaged art installation conceived by the Hong Kong-based British artist Simon Birch. Taking over three acres of an empty industrial warehouse and lot on the outskirts of downtown Los Angeles, the location was transformed into a factory where Birch and his 20 creative collaborators worked and manufactured their art, creating an ever-changing immersive environment of 14 interlinked spaces comprised of video, installation, sculpture, paintings and performance.

In entering The 14th Factory, the visitor was transformed into a central player in a collaboratively fabricated adventure and motion picture that engages and unfolds, uniting individuals to the creative process and to each other. The experience challenged the current political climate by celebrating creative diversity, unity and the act of overcoming obstacles and challenges as a global society.
